This month, the Causevest community is turning its attention to Nepal.
On 26 August 2026, a catastrophic flash flood struck the Nepal-Tibet border region following a glacial collapse and landslide. The disaster has devastated communities across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading, with hundreds reported dead and nearly 2,000 people missing.
The immediate needs are enormous, including food, clean water, sanitation, emergency shelter, healthcare, child protection and long-term recovery.

Nepal Youth Foundation
The Nepal Youth Foundation (NYF) has worked in Nepal since 1990, supporting children and families through programmes focused on education, health, shelter and economic opportunity.
Following the August 2026 floods, NYF is responding directly to the disaster, providing emergency shelter, nutrition support, long-term care for displaced children, vocational training and temporary housing for young adults.

HealthCare Nepal
HealthCare Nepal is an all-volunteer organisation that has worked to improve health and education in Nepal for more than two decades.
Following the catastrophic flooding on 26 August 2026, HealthCare Nepal established a disaster relief fund to provide immediate assistance while also supporting survivors as they rebuild their lives over the longer term.

Karkhana Samuha
Karkhana Samuha is a Nepalese non-profit focused on making education more inclusive, innovative and accessible, particularly for communities that are often underserved.
Its work includes education in emergencies, supporting schools and communities to keep learning going during crises and strengthening systems that help children continue their education when normal schooling is disrupted.
