How was your week? More importantly, what is one way you helped someone this week?

Drop it in the comments, we would love to hear your stories and celebrate the small acts that continue to shape a culture of giving.

Let’s inspire one another and keep building a future where positive impact becomes a way of life.

1. Helping an elderly man in Austria

Helping people in need is one of the pledges of the Causevest Network, and yes, I’ve already had my first real-life opportunity to put that into practice.

While I was in Austria, I noticed an elderly man who had fallen to the ground. At first, I thought he might be begging, which was actually the reason I noticed him in the first place. We often give to people in need as part of one of the Causevest pledges.

Between my nonexistent German and Google Translate, I eventually realised he had suffered heatstroke, which was made worse by his high blood pressure. He had collapsed and was unable to get back on his feet.

I helped him up and then got some passers-by to help me get him safely back to his apartment, where his wife was waiting for him.

I was genuinely very happy to know that I had made a positive impact on someone’s day.

I didn’t want to record him in a bad state but i took a picture of the street he was on.

2. Carrying a wheelchair up the stairs

The second one happened at a metro station in Austria.( it was not this station at all xD)

I saw someone using what I think was an electric wheelchair. They mentioned to a passer-by that the elevator wasn’t working. The passer-by basically said, “Oh,” and carried on up the stairs.

I thought nothing of it at first, but then suddenly had a moment of: “WAIT A MINUTE… HOW ARE THEY GOING TO GET UP THE STAIRS?!”

So I went over and asked if they needed help. It turned out the wheelchair conveniently folded up, so I carried it up the stairs for them while they made their way up.

IT WAS BLOODY HEAVY. :joy:

I was thinking, “Well, this is why we go to the gym. Damn, son!”

We eventually made it up, and I ended up taking their Instagram and making a new friend for the Causevest Network. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Two small moments, but exactly the kind of real-world impact we want Causevest to encourage: see someone who needs help, and actually do something about it.
