Celebrating Strength, Awareness, and Community: Our September Journey

At Research, Data, and Stories in Development (RDSD), September was a month filled with connection, reflection, and discovery. More than a series of activities, it became a shared journey, one where women and communities came together to learn, to heal, and to rediscover the quiet power that lives in our collective experiences.

In partnership with Range the Brand, the Wadi Ben-Hirki Foundation, and other committed organizations, we honored Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month with initiatives that touched both the mind and the heart.

To mark the International Day of Charity September 5th, through WINGS initiative, the Wadi Ben-Hirki Foundation led an impactful outreach at the New Kuchingoro IDP Camp in Abuja. The day was filled with meaningful dialogue, health education, and moments of empowerment.

Women shared their stories, of strength, of carrying invisible burdens, and of holding on to hope despite adversity.

In conclusion, we had a mental health session which

reminded us that resilience isn’t silent suffering; it is the courage to express, to breathe, and to envision a life beyond hardship.
