**🌍 Causevest Community Update – July 6th, 2025**

As part of our new bi-weekly/tri-weekly community updates, we’re excited to share recent progress across the team, as well as highlight developments in crypto, altruism, and beyond.

### 🎓 **Education & Outreach: Coventry Blockchain Event**

On Thursday, July 3rd, Made and Nana hosted our first-ever **Blockchain Student Event** at **Coventry University London Campus**. The session featured:

- A blockchain developer breaking down **economic finality generation** and its technical implications.
- Industry experts discussing the effects of **regulatory arbitrage** on how cryptocurrencies are valued.
- Lively student discussions around their experiences using crypto across different economies and jurisdictions.

Big thanks to all participants! This marks the beginning of our academic outreach and student engagement initiative.

### 🧠 **Protocol Development Update**

Our protocol team has been hard at work refining the foundations of the Causevest system:

- **Power-Law Distribution Fix:**  
We’ve resolved an issue with the way large payouts were being calculated using power-law distributions. The new update ensures that the **chance of large rewards remains consistent** , regardless of the payout range, keeping the system fair and transparent.
- **Economic Simulation Progress:**  
We are finalizing simulations to model the long-term economic flow of XCV coins across the network. This will help us set robust economic parameters that drive sustainable participation and incentives.Key areas:
  - Refining logic behind **network pools and pot distributions**
  - Testing various **base flow assumptions for XCV**
  - Diagnosing and improving simulation stability

### 🌱 **Community & Growth**

- Our **new Community Manager Guide** is complete! New managers will begin **researching Causes and onboarding** from Monday to expand our reach and impact.
- **New ICO Site Launching – July 11th!**

- **Crypto News:**
  - The SEC’s softening stance on crypto ETFs has renewed interest in **institutional crypto products** , with several altcoin ETFs now in review.
  - Ethereum’s latest **Pectra testnet upgrade** went live, introducing improvements in staking efficiency and lower Layer 2 fees.

- **Altruism Spotlight:**
  - A new report from **Effective Altruism Global** emphasizes the importance of **cause-neutral infrastructure** —an area where Causevest is proud to lead.
  - A growing movement of **“Crypto Philanthropy DAOs”** is using blockchain for pooled giving and democratic cause selection—mirroring many of our goals with XCV-based cause voting.
